In around 30 years, Luis has published eight poetry collections with Tia Chucha Press, Curbstone Books, and C&C Press (those from C&C Press are limited edition, hand-made art books) as well as two memoirs, two children's books, a novel, a short story collection, and a nonfiction book on gang intervention and urban peace. His other books have been published by Touchstone Books/Simon & Schuster, Rayo Books/HarperCollins, Lee & Low Books, Seven Stories Press, and Curbstone Books.

I so enjoyed seeing Luis Rodriguez speak a few years ago in Los Angeles. It helped to understand challenged communities. He tends to be “leftist” politically – having been the VP pick of third-party Presidential candidate Rocky Anderson in 2012, and having run for Governor of California on the Green Party ticket in 2014 I think it was. Will Luis Rodriguez come out and endorse Sen. BERNIE Sanders for President? I hope so! I have sent info about Rodriguez to BERNIE’s Campaign… I hope a connection is made, and that BERNIE can pick up on the wonderful work Mr. Rodriguez has done with hurting communities in the L.A. area and beyond!

I like reading and books too, everyday I read some books about sports and arts, and for the books above, i like “Hearts and Hands: Creating Community in Violent Times”, I am a young girl so i think there are many books for me to read in the future, nowadays, everybody with a mobil phone in hand and waste their time in friends circle, i think reading if the most useful for youngs grow, so i will recommend these books to all of my friends.

And of course I do some online business for my life, but I will never give up reading and sports (another interest of me) Any guys or girls who love both these two subjects, welcome to my site to contact me!

I have been using his books in our Juvenile Detention Facility where we of course house young Latino gang members that can relate to his books. They are craving more books but since I supply them with my own funds… they have to wait. I use them as a behavioral tool. Thank you Mr. Rodriguez.
